Submission Guidelines

The deadline for abstract submission is June 1, 2025 (Sunday). Late submissions will NOT be accepted. All abstracts must be submitted in English exclusively via the congress system at https://congress.apms-hkvrs.org/. Submissions by post, email, fax, or any other means will NOT be accepted. Subspecialties

You may submit your abstract under any one of the following subspecialties:

  1. Intraocular Inflammation and Uveitis
  2. Myopia
  3. Ocular Imaging
  4. Ocular Oncology & Pathology
  5. Pediatric Retina
  6. Retina (Medical)
  7. Retina (Surgical)
  8. Translational Medicine

Presentation Types

Only free paper presentations are accepted this year. Free paper submissions include an oral presentation. Accepted free paper presenting authors will need to deliver a talk lasting 5 to 8 minutes in person during the APMS-HKVRS 2025 Congress.

Title
  • The title must be concise. Avoid using abbreviations in the title.
  • The title must not exceed 40 words.
Content
  • It is advised to include purpose, methods, results and conclusion.
  • The abstract must not exceed 250 words.
  • Do not include graphs, tables, images, and references in the abstract.
  • Define each abbreviation the first time it is used in the abstract by placing what it stands for in parentheses.
  • Remove the names of any affiliated institutes, academic institutions, hospitals, eye centers, and individuals involved in the study
Keywords
  • At most 5 keywords

The Selection Committee strongly recommends that authors submit their abstracts as early as possible to avoid last-minute rushes and system congestion. After submission, abstracts can still be revised until the June 1, 2025 deadline (Sunday). Kindly note that only the latest version will be reviewed.

It is the author’s responsibility to ensure that the abstract is submitted with correct spelling and grammar. However, the Selection Committee reserves the right to edit abstracts containing significant spelling and grammatical mistakes.

Successfully submitted abstracts will receive an electronic acknowledgment receipt, including an abstract reference number, which should be quoted in all future correspondence. If you do not receive the acknowledgment within 24 hours of submission, please contact the Congress Secretariat via email at secretariat@apms-hkvrs.org. The APMS-HKVRS 2025 Congress holds the copyright to all materials presented at the Congress.

Selection and Result Announcement

All submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the Selection Committee. The review process is confidential, and the decision is final. Authors will be notified of the abstract selection results in mid-June. Accepted free paper presenting authors will enjoy a waived registration fee.

Awards

Best Abstract Awards

The HVKRS and APMS Selection Committee will select the Best Abstract Awards for vitreoretinal and myopia abstracts, respectively, with the decision being final. The Best Abstract Awards will be presented during the HKVRS-APMS 2025 Congress. All winning authors will receive recognition in the Final Book and complimentary tickets to the Presidential Dinner on July 12, 2025.
